As Director, Creative – Head of Revenue Advertising Pillar Hub at Discord, I lead the Brand Creative team responsible for campaigns across Quests, Nitro, Shop, and Partnerships. I collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Communications to deliver work that builds brand affinity, drives engagement, and grows revenue. Key highlights include:
Discord’s 10th Birthday Campaign — Led the creation of “Where’s Wumpus?”, a platform-wide activation that drove 2.2M impressions, 95K engagements, and the highest positive sentiment of the year.
Discord Orbs Launch — Shaped strategy and creative from concept to UX for Discord’s new virtual currency, reaching 1.2M users in 24 hours, generating 93K Orbs earned, and securing 160M+ press impressions.
Nitro Reverse Trials Campaign — Surpassed revenue and conversion targets, generating $2.4M (vs. $1.6M goal), adding 80K incremental subscriptions, and lifting conversion by 60%.
Game Developers Conference (GDC) Presence — Defined Discord’s positioning as both a cultural and business leader in gaming.
Creative Leadership — Mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary creative team, fostering craft excellence and career growth.
To launch the reimagined Nitro membership featuring HD streaming, custom emojis, larger uploads, and expanded profile customization, we brought Discord’s beloved character Wumpus to life in a new way. Partnering with LeCube & Psyop, we created a high-energy 2D animation that showcased Wumpus’ transformation into a fully powered Nitro form. The visual style blended fluid, dynamic motion with crisp design and bold lighting, drawing inspiration from iconic action-anime transformations like Saint Seiya and Sailor Moon.
Events are one of the most powerful ways we share Discord’s story — creating cultural moments, strengthening partnerships, and bringing product launches directly to our communities. Each activation reimagines our dev and ad solutions as social, tactile IRL experiences: part discovery hub, part nostalgic escape. Inspired by Blockbuster, GameStop, and Tower Records, we design spaces that feel both familiar and future-facing, encouraging connection while spotlighting our newest offerings.
Alongside the physical experience, we build intuitive splash pages that extend the event’s aesthetic online, plus custom merch and giveaways that audiences genuinely love.
Highlights include GDC, the launch of Discord Quests, our Cannes Lions party featuring Anderson .Paak, IAB, Advertising Week New York, and Discord’s 10th Birthday.
Background video created in partnership with The Heist to celebrate gaming culture and launch Discord Orbs during Anderson .Paak’s performance at Influential Beach, Cannes Lions. The piece drew from beloved gaming genres; from medieval realms to cozy comfort games to gritty industrial shooters, with collectible Orbs hidden throughout as a nod to Discord’s newest feature.
